Atelier Red and Black
At Atelier Red + Black we believe each design is an opportunity to celebrate a clients brief with creativity and imagination. For us, beauty and functionality always go hand in hand. Good design is a means of achieving a unique space that is tailored to our client’s way of living. Each project is developed in response to its site and context from the outset. Site and program constraints are seen as opportunities for new solutions. We are looking for clients with exciting projects that they would like us to design. If this sounds like you, we would love to have a chat over coffee.

Projects:
Private Residence
Berwick , 2016
This private residence is designed to suit the clients needs all year round. It can easily function as the large family gathering place during the festive period, whilst also being able to work as an intimate residence for a couple on a day to day basis. It has been designed to achieve an 8 Star energy efficiency rating to keep heating and cooling costs to a minimum. Construction is to commence in 2016.
Rose Garden Origami
Victoria, 2015
Rose Garden Origami is an attached garden pavilion which has been carefully crafted to capitalize on outdoor living space. The Pavilion mediates between a tranquil, north-facing rose garden and the internal living areas of a Mount Waverley townhouse. The unique nature of the pavilion is generated through the innovative, origami-like folded pattern of the vivid white metal sheets. This fully modular system carefully modulates daylight and gives the space a hand-crafted feel, heightening the experience of the rose garden. Its modular design also achieved excellent value for money for the client during construction.
Camberwell Medical Centre
Camberwell, 2015
This new medical centre is set on a prominent Camberwell site with a beautiful heritage mansion. Our brief was to design a new 2 level building on the land currently used as a tennis court, that would connect through to the restored mansion to create a single medical facility. The new building naturally must respect and enhance the existing heritage and streetscape and in articular not dominate the original structure.
