Principal Eve Strano is passionate about affordable yet contemporary design in residential and institutional areas. Strawbale House
Dooen, 2015
The straw bale house in Dooen is a sustainably designed building which utilises the great insulating properties of the thick straw bale walls. It also takes advantage of the views to the south whilst also providing the northern day lighting through clerestorey windows which also allows for natural heating. The high level windows also double to create a solar chimney which allows excellent cross ventilation properties within the dwelling, not to mention the providing a beautiful light filled living area below.
