PHI design and architecture
Established in 2008, Phi Design and Architecture is a vision of the principal architect, Bill MacMahon to create an interactive studio. Our firm is constantly seeking new challenges and committed to an architecture that is of its time. Offering a high level of service in a friendly manner, we aim to provide not only an outstanding solution, but an enjoyable design and construction process. From the larger picture, to the finer details, we maintain an elegant approach to design, while using ‘constraints’ as a means of generating new ideas and innovations.

Projects:
Robson House
Woollahra, 2009
A picture perfect design for our client, this extension of their home redefines the meaning of bringing the outside to the inside. The exterior louvre system completely opens up the space allowing a great deal of light to fall onto the interior.
Rookwood Pavilion
Rookwood, 2011
Surrounded by greenery, sandstone sculptures and water features, the colourful and light pavilion provides a modern and spiritual ceremony space at the end of the ‘Stations of the Cross’ within the Rookwood Cemetery. The cross is represented through a skylight as the shadow falls onto the marble floor.
Buzo Wine Library
Woollahra, 2010
Short listed for the Australian Interior Design Awards, Woollahra became home to the Italian inspired BUZO Wine Library, distinguishable by its unique LED back-lit plywood wall panels, and overall intimate ambiance. Using modern technology, a more traditional feel of a wine bar and library was achieved.
