Belair National Park

Belair National Park is listed on the Register of the National Estate. It is South Australia’s first National Park and the second oldest in Australia. For over one hundred years the Park as been an important recreation venue for South Australians in addition to being of high conservation significance. Shannon Architects have been appointed as design consultants for a major redevelopment of the park since 2003. An intensive upgrade of minor facilities has progressed through several stages and is ongoing. Visitor amenity will be significantly improved through the provision of a variety of new and restored shelters, arbors and amenities. An increase in conservation areas will be achieved through consolidation and replanning of siteworks. A major upgrade of the Entry Precinct has occurred including a new Gatehouse and road network. Interpretive signage and facilities are being progressively upgraded.
