Shiro Architects
Shiro Architects is a pedigree startup with access to substantial external resources, founded in 2014 by Hiromi Lauren (n’e Shiraishi), a former associate at Harry Seidler and Associates. Shiro believes that architects should prioritise making money for developer clients by making better use of their space. Hiromi demonstrated this capacity by designing an extra unit into each of 11 floors of North Apartments in Sydney’s Goulburn Street, netting the client a windfall of $6 million. Hiromi worked at Seidler for just under 20 years, and Harry’s daughter Polly wrote that he considered her ‘an amazingly gifted architect’.
