Nedlands, 2009
The owners of an existing weatherboard cottage in Nedlands were seeking to modernise and enlarge their residence. The original front rooms were retained, and an extension designed extending out from the rear. Although the land falls away from the street, the existing floor level was retained throughout. This created an undercroft carpark with parking for two cars and a laundry space. The extensions included a modern kitchen, living areas and a master bedroom. The north facing deck is sheltered from the prevailing winds, and provides a seamless connection between interior and exterior living spaces.
