Projects:
XO Restaurant, Bistro and Bars, Sunshine Beach
Sunshine Beach, 2010
XO Sunshine Beach is a major refurbishment containing two new restaurants and bars and an exclusive vintage cellar. It is prominently located at the ocean end of the intimate cafe and restaurant strip which makes up the village of Sunshine Beach. The existing building had not received any major modifications since it was built in the late ’80’s and formally housed several notable restaurants. When these businesses vacated major alterations were begun. The intention was to identify untapped opportunities opening the building up to the street and aspect, combining the existing disparate building forms to create an homogenous but varied composition, and to create a memorable, comfortable and stylish building that engaged with its seaside location.
Witta Residence
Witta Circle, Noosa Sound, 2011
This project is a complete rebuild of an existing house in Noosa Sound. The original residence has endured 3 earlier partial renovations and required the major works to address years of accumulated poor design and construction and the improve the function and flow of the house. The new works included adding a major new upper floor which includes accommodation for two unrelated family groups, and arranges the ground floor entertainment areas into logical zones which now address and flow to the external entertainment areas. A new outdoor pavillion, bar and bbq has been added. It was important to orientate the new spaces to address the excellent climatic opportunities, and to create private retreats within the property. The finishes were selected to age well, be low maintenance and to have a timeless sense of style.
