Tate Munday Residence

Paddington, 2004

A central courtyard was use as a node to separate the new from the old in these two storey alterations and additions to the rear of a grand terrace within Paddington. The courtyard defines the circulation zone and draws breezes and northern sun deep into the plan. The rear courtyard is extended by retractable batten screens and a motorised slidign roof to the double garage.

Bourke Street Terrace

Surry Hills, 2011

The project created a substantial 3 level redevelopment at the rear of an existing two storey terrace in Surry Hills. Tight site constraints and poor orientation dictated the need to provide a central light court and stairwell between the retained terrace and the new addition. The natural level change between the street and rear yard was manipulated to create three new levels to maximise the sites’ potential. The finalized project creates a substantial light filled family home with distinct and separate living zones over several levels on a tight urban block.
