Alterations and Additions
Castlecrag, 2009
This was an addition of a glass box and roof terrace on top of an existing flat roofed house. The solution was to provide additional space to capture winter sun and provide a retreat for a family of 5. The retreat is expressed steel frame with a butterfly glass roof. The addition provides wonderful views to Sailors Bay
New Cabana
Naremburn, 2009
This was an exciting project. My clients wanted to have a building to service their swimming pool and a double carport. They decided to use mud brick which was very new to me. Also, the structure was to be expressed and was cut down telegraph poles to a size of 150mm x 150mm. The mud brick walls went to a height of 2.4m and then on top of this was light weight construction clad in plywood. The end design is a series of skillon roofs with a timber loft sitting over the cabana. The cabana has French doors and bi-fold windows opening on to a north facing terrace, pergola and swimming pool.
Alterations and Additions
Willoughby, 2009
This project was a 2 storey rear addition and a carport to a house. Existing add ons had to be demolished to make way for the new work. The design was similar to a barn with a galley looking into a double height space. The addition included a new bathroom, laundry and kitchen, all open to a combined dining and living space which then opened onto a covered north facing terrace. Another aspect of the brief included new structural and soft landscaping to complete the design.
