Mercedes

Waitara, 2009

To showcase superbly designed motor vehicles, Ezzy Architects created a light contemporary space of steel and glass that not only showcases but also reflects the structural values of the vehicles themselves. The sense of patterned geometry creates a high tech feel while the muted tones offset and highlight the blue Mercedes branding. The showroom boasts a generous sense of space yet incorporates a mezzanine to an additional 50% of functional workspace. The mezzanine solution avoided the need for a new DA as the overall building is still a single storey with existing usage already approved. For a busy retailer, this saved a significant amount of unnecessary cost and lost trading time. Completed in 2009, this large scale development was successful both in gaining local community support and also in that Mercedes Waitara went on to win awards for Metropolitan Dealership of the Year in 2011 and 2012.

Peppers Guest House

Hunter Valley, 1984

The architectural challenge in the design of Peppers Guest House was to re-create history in a distinctive boutique style without compromising on luxury and indulgence. Peppers Guesthouse saw the concept of vintage luxury coming to life for the first time in the Hunter Valley, a trend that has been followed extensively since. Peppers Retreat offers contemporary comforts within an atmosphere of history that connects us to the skilled generations before us that established the local wine industry. The attention to detail in the heritage architecture creates an atmosphere of history and supports the sense of indulgence and luxury that compliments a fine wine and culinary tourism adventure. Ready to open doors in 1984, Peppers Guest House was the very first Peppers Retreat and pioneered the defining elements of all Peppers Retreats today.

Freseniuis Kabi

Mt Kuring-gai, 2013

Compounding Facility, Mt Kuringai The design requirement of the Fresenius Kabi Compounding Facility was to align the floor plan with the building’s service delivery objective: the manufacture and dispensing of fast turn-around oncology medications. Our consulting process included a thorough time and motion analysis which enabled us to achieve a continuous flow cycle in the floor plan from delivery of raw materials through to manufacture and then same-day order receipt, administration, collation, dispensing and dispatch. Stringent health regulations necessitated sealed, contamination-free clean rooms; a refrigerated vertical conveyor belt system; sophisticated air-conditioning systems; and secure waste removal. To facilitate timely pharmaceutical licensing, the project was undertaken in two stages. As with many projects, Ezzy Architect’s ingenuity is demonstrated as much in negotiating red tape as it is in building design.
