Projects:
Lexus Showroom
50 McLachlan Ave, Ruschcutter’s Bay, 2010
This Showroom heralds the New Lexus Corporate Design, customised to suit Australian conditions by F&J in collaboration with Lexus Australia. Balancing a tight time frame with the concurrent task of finalising the prototype, a fully operational Dealership was achieved in just five months. The developed Lexus Corporate design was quickly adapted to the existing base building tenancy, enabling documentation in half the time.
Northbridge Community Library
258 Sailors Bay Road, Northbridge NSW, 2009
As an “adaptive re-use” project, the Brief was to convert a lapsed Uniting Church into an intimate community library for the residents of Northbridge. The challenge was to accommodate the requirements of the library, the disparate purposes of a multi-use building with after-hours community use, and access for the disabled. The design has achieved all the functional requirements with minimal alterations to the building fabric and maximum retention of the Church’s original character and ambience.
Chatswood West Community Library
Cnr Felton & Mowbray Rds, Chatswood West, 2010
The Chatswood West Branch Library forms part of the ‘St.Peter’s Green Seniors Complex’ designed to be the new focal point for the Lane Cove North Community. In consultation with Willoughby City Council, the brief was to design the layout and internal fitout for the Branch Library & Community Meeting Rooms in their context with the St Peter’s Green Aged Care Complex. The Library and Community Rooms complement a village green; playground; caf’; independent living units; and a high care residential facility. Recently Launched in July 2010, the community response has been extremely positive.
