Shepparton Campus, VIC, 2010
La Trobe University, Shepparton Campus is an iconic vision for collaborative learning. It is a sculptural and environmentally responsive form, confidently occupying its corner site. The design is equally driven by contemporary pedagogy, master planning and sustainability. Rich in information and communication technologies, the facility looks to the future, with an ability to adapt to the changing needs of both the university and wider community use. Representing one of the first regional education buildings to be awarded 5 Star Certification by the GBCA, it is a benchmark design and a powerful contribution to the built environment. .
Automotive Centre of Excellence, Stage 2
Docklands Melbourne, 2011
The project showcases the automotive industry through a world leading building that sets new benchmarks and environmental performance in a state of the art training facility. The brief for this complex automotive facility was to provide a wide variety of flexible training spaces, vehicle testing facilities, and large scale specialist automotive workshops. A sound environmental performance brief was established at the outset and is represented architecturally through a series of thermal chimneys, roof mounted solar panels, chilled beams and the batiso in slab system. An upper level green roof also provides an extensive breakout area overlooking the City and Docklands environs. Currently under construction, and due for completion in 2011, the building represents Stage 2 of a three stage development and firmly establishes a substantial campus environment within the urban infrastructure of Melbourne Docklands.
