Rural residence for a family with active young children. The house was designed to step down the steep site as two pavilions and orientated to benefit from passive design principles, while taking advantage of the rural views. The narrow width of the pavilions allowed for natural light and ventilation into all living areas

This parents retreat was designed around an extensive garden. The clients wanted an addition that was ecologically sustainable had minimal impact to their mature garden and that provided privacy from neighbours. The design allows winter sun to penetrate deep into the living areas and a wonderful play of light.
