Courtyard House
Balmain, 2011
This project involves alterations and additions to the rear of an existing semi-detached house in Balmain. The existing house had little access to direct sunlight. Therefore the priority for this project is to create a new pavilion which will obtain maximum solar access with a perfect northern orientation. The introduction of a courtyard between the original cottage and the new pavilion along with a rear garden area means the pavilion can be opened at both ends to create a continuous landscape f
Victorian Terrace
Surry Hills, 2010
This project involves the complete reconfiguration of the original Victorian Terrace. Living areas have been elevated to upper floors to maximise sunlight and ventilation with bedrooms relocated to the ground floor. A third floor minimises the impact of additions on neighbours while gaining valuable additional floorspace for living areas.
Coastal House
Little Bay, 2010
This project is a new house for a young family. The design responds to the clients’ desire to have a house that directly engages with the garden. The living areas have sliding glass doors which open completely to provide uninterrupted access to the garden. To further enhance the relationship of landscape to the interiors the roof over the living areas is also planted to provide a lush outlook from the upstairs bedrooms.
