Gayle Plunkett Architect has shared the enjoyment of good design, form and function with clients through their projects since 1991, including: 1. One-off residences for individuals and families with: vastly differing needs, and modest to moderate budgets; 2. Various health, housing and commercial projects in remote Indigenous communities and townships in the Far North Queensland (Cape York and Gulf) where close consultation and tropical design are key elements; 3. Several commercial and Government projects in Vanuatu and the Cook Islands, where tropical/cyclone/earthquake design experience is paramount; 4. Heritage work where care and attention to detail is required for all aspects.

Avonleigh

Rockhampton, 2013

The original residence for Frederick Morgan of Mt Morgan Gold Mine fame. The current owners are as passionate about the history as they are about ensuring Avonleigh retains as much of it’s history and glory as possible. The two storey building was firstly a residence then evolved into a hospital, and, more recently professional offices on the ground floor and two residences above. The proposed works, which is currently at final documentation stage, are to add additional facilities for the tenants on the ground floor plus entry, garage and wet area facilities for a single residence which is to be on the whole upper floor (exising and new). This will allow the owners to move into their dream home in a superb inner-city waterfront location.
