Holdsworth St

Woollarah, NSW, 2006

The Holdsworth Street project provided an opportunity to design and construct a contemporary home in a dense urban environment characterised by a variety of housing stock in the midst of the Woollahrah Conservation area. A house that would provide a secure base for the owners whilst at the same time opening itself up to allow light and air to permeate all areas of the building. The basement car park is accessed by a car lift located in the front courtyard and with an electric turntable within the basement providing a capacity for four car

Ryan Residence

Mosman, NSW, 2011

Sited on a quiet leafy street in Mosman, alterations and additions were made to an existing single storey masonry dwelling to create a 3 level family home. The existing masonry lower level was retained as bedrooms and a playroom for the children. The open plan living area with kitchen and dining spaces are located at mid-level, with a parents retreat on the uppermost floor which benefits from views onto long bay within Sydney harbour. The built form expresses the new elements as lightweight timber additions which visually key into the existing masonry form to create an integrated composition.

de la Sala Residence

Cremorne, 2012

Conceived as a timber box opening onto a small garden, this addition to the rear of a Victorian semi-detached house is simple and understated. The open plan living and dining area is finished in simple robust materials, plain white walls separate oiled plywood ceiling and sealed concrete floor which provides good thermal mass to the North facing aspect. The existing 3 bedrooms within the residence are restored with traditional cornice work and skirtings, highlighting the contrast between the existing and the new.
