Obsession Restaurant & Bar
Southbank, Brisbane QLD, 2009
Obsession was an established and beloved Chinese restaurant in Brisbane’s burgeoning Southbank. The project involved expansion of the existing tenancy and complete refurbishment of the spaces to create a sophisticated yet relaxed dining experience for customers. Branding was ‘reinvented’ to support the interior design and unique Asian fusion menu. The centre piece of the design is the ‘lotus’ inspired reception counter made entirely from stained plywood and opaque plastic. Located front and centre, it acts as a welcoming point for all customers. The palette is predominantly a collection of timbers and black bamboo, highlighted with contemporary gold leaf wallpapers and bronze mirrors. The ambience is established, subtle and refined. http://www.liquidblu.com.au/obsession-project-0033.html
RR Ranch
Talofa, NSW, 2012
The design aesthetic takes inspiration from the classic ‘ranch’ style, reminiscent of Northern Californian wine country. This is carefully blended with a modern local vernacular, emphasizing the immediate context and environmental conditions. The home comprises four nodal zones linked with free flowing breezeways. The segmentation of each zone allows each space to be designed with a particular activity, mood and privacy level. Designed to achieve the highest level of environmentally sustainable awareness, the home is self sustaining in terms of electricity generation and water collection with mass solar and rain water collection areas. http://www.liquidblu.com.au/rr-ranch-project-0070.html
