Projects:
Dulwich House
Dulwich South Australia, 2011
A 1920’s bungalow in near original condition in a suburb of traditional stone and brick villas was the starting point of this project. The addition of a contemporary pavilion to the rear of the existing house provides for the requirements of the new owners. The refurbished house becomes the children’s bedroom & study zone, with the new addition providing living areas and main bedroom, ensuite and study. An outdoor living area with its own kitchen becomes a transition between inside and the garden. Creative landscape design integrates planting and paving, with strategic location of deciduous trees to provide summer shade to the northern courtyard and living areas.
Hills House
Adelaide Hills, 2006
The site for this new family home was an old pear orchard in the Adelaide Hills. Mature pear trees were retained for both fruit and shade. The large living area opens to the north, swimming pool and garden. A sunny north courtyard and south entry courtyard provide separation between the single storey living pavilion and the double storey bedroom zone. Cement paint to external walls weathers to a patina over time.
South Coast House
Waitpinga, 2015
The spectactular site for this holiday house has ocean views and backs onto remnant native bushland. The house is designed for the owners to escape the city on weekends and holidays, and to also accommodate extended family and friends. It is totally off the grid, providing its own power, water and waste water treatment, and has also been designed for a high bush fire risk zone.
