Bribie House

Bribie Island, 2004

This lowset house occupies a north easterly facing waterfront block at Bribie Island. The owner requested a high spec low maintenance single storey home that took full advantage of its enviable location. Whilst this is a relatively small home it has many features of its larger counterparts such as a resort style infinity edge lap pool. From an impressive entry with its stone water cascade a wide art lined gallery leads through the home to the open plan living, dining, kitchen area which overlooks the waterway. The master suite has direct access to the pool from a pavilion covered terrace. All living areas have fully retractable cedar bifold doors which open onto a waterfront covered terraces. Cooling breezes can be directed inside via numerous louver windows to modify temperatures and allow the owners to enjoy the Queensland climate for most of the year both inside and outside. This house won the 2004 HIA Custom Built House value $500,00 to $750,000.

Hendry House

Noosa, 2005

Sited on a corner block in an older urban street this house was designed for general appeal with resale in mind. In fact the house when completed went on to be a very successful Prize Home and subsequently has proved a popular rental holiday home. Despite the modest size of this corner block we maximised the size of the house within statutory regulations and provided all the features required for luxury contemporary living. Externally we have designed for a contemporary modern appearance with classic Queenslander features to fit in with the surrounding streetscape. The major design element of the house is the double storey atrium style living and dining room which open through bifold doors to the garden , pool and BBQ deck. At first floor the master suite overlooks the living room atrium and has a dedicated balcony with street and distant views. There are two additional double bedrooms and family bathroom on this level. The owners have personalised their house by specifying the high quality contemporary fixtures and fittings and choosing the colour schedule and art works.
