Ruth Woods
My practice specializes in conservation and adaptive re-use of local and State listed heritage properties. I work throughout Queensland on all places from universities, commercial, industrial to residential sites. My services range from the assessment of cultural significance, preparation of conservation management plans, statement of impact reports for development projects to the design of new works within and adjoining heritage listed places. As a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects with over 30 years experience as an architect I have also acted as an expert witness in the Planning and Environment Court and prepared reports for submission to the Court

Yeronga Stables
Yeronga, 2000
Adaptive re-use of the State listed Rhyndarra stables into a family home. A modern extension to the stables was created to provide a family residence while still maintaining and respecting the cultural heritage significance of the place. This project won a regional award through the AIA and a John Herbert Gold Award for Excellence from the National Trust.
Toowoomba Foundry
Toowoomba, 2010
Preparation of a Conservation Management Plan for the State listed Toowoomba Foundry and an adjoining locally listed Hotel site. I worked with the architects for the project advising on impacts and mitigation including the preparation of a Statement of Impact report for the adaptive re-use of the site.
St Joseph’s Gregory Terrace

Preparation of a Conservation Management Plan for Treacy Hall at St Joseph’s College Gregory Terrace. I also provided advice on the adaptive re-use of the building by the College and prepared a Statement of Impact report for the development application.
