Tim Alexander-Architect is a small Sydney lower North Shore based practice specialising mainly in single dwelling residential projects. Residential projects range from small to large alterations and additions as well as new houses. We have extensive experience in heritage conservation areas and handle budget driven as well as high end projects. Because of the Principal’s extensive commercial and government architecture experience, we have also completed a number of small commercial, high-tech industrial and institutional projects. We are a design oriented practice offering the full range of services from concept/feasibility through to contract administration/advise during construction.

House Alterations & Additions
Lower North Shore NSW, 2010
Major alterations and additions to an existing waterfront residence. Importantly, this project maintained the feeling of the client’s existing ‘home’ while significantly upgrading its facilities, amenity and sophistication. This high end project blends into its bushland, harbour front environment while taking advantage of the best things about its location. It is a large house without looking large! The glassier west facing view side of the house is ‘bookended’ each side with solid sandstone clad walls giving privacy to both the neighbours and occupants while relating to the surrounding Hawkesbury Sandstone landscape. The main ground floor level has a large roofed terrace with stacking frameless glass doors to allow it be fully opened up for weather protected open entertaining.
