We provide consulting services, both independently and with collaborators, to public and private sector players in the design, planning and construction industry. As well as architecture, urban design and planning, Placemakers provides mentoring, practice management, dispute avoidance, and risk management counselling. Tony led the Giles Tribe Architects team for this multi-award-winning 50 Ha master-planned waterfront community from its rezoning in 1998 until 2006. The remediated gasworks site includes a village centre, supermaket, shops, pre-school, village green, community hall, recreation club, over 12 hectares of passive and active open space, adaptive use of several heritage buildings, a marina and over 2000 dwellings in all forms including individual houses, attached dwellings, townhouses, low and high rise apartments and shoptop apartments. It is a staged, community title development with a consistent design theme. Urban design, architectural and landscape design standards were developed concurrently with the masterplan. The team were also architects for most key buildings and monitored compliance, consistency and design quality of all buildings, landscape and civil works.
