Dux Nutz
Smiths Lake, 2010
This confident, contemporary home is set amongst tall eucalypts on the shores of Smiths Lake on the Midnorth Coast of NSW. Located on a steep, south facing site, the house has been cleverly designed to respond to the sun’s path, prevailing winds, key views and the existing topography. The use of timber as a key element of the design was important in blending the home with the site and providing a warmth to compliment the rammed earth walls. Timber offers a tactility that is a soothing and comfortable presence to the occupants.
Charlotte Bay House
Midnorth Coast NSW, 2011

Orange Grove House
Smiths Lake, 2010
Set among tall eucalypts, this contemporary house is constructed from a mix of colorbond steel (to shield from bushfire), rammed earth and australian hardwoods. On a difficult south facing site the house has been designed to capture north sun to all rooms and still maintain it the stunning views to the south.
