CAMMERAY HOUSE

CAMMERAY NSW, 2008

This project took a 1920’s bungalow with poor connection to the rear courtyard and original configuration of rear lean-to kitchen and laundry, and transformed it into a modern home. The rear section of the house was demolished and lowered to connect to the rear ground level and to create a lofty ceiling space for the kitchen/family/dining room. The new rear section of the house connects with the level courtyard with large sliding doors, allowing a seamless inside/outside flow. Highlight windows bring an abundance of light and cross ventilation to the room. The living area is compact as the small site provided quite a challenge, but the high ceilings and large sliding doors give the room a spacious feel.

PALM BEACH HOUSE 1

PALM BEACH NSW, 2010

This project involved the total renovation of a 20 year old contemporary architect designed beach house in an oceanfront site at Palm Beach. The existing house had a large deck overlooking the ocean, but it was very exposed with no shelter from the sun or rain. The deck timbers and balustrade were replaced plus a Vergola structure added to give sun protection in summer, without blocking any winter sun, plus the added bonus of being watertight in rain. The upper level bedrooms were extended to allow for water views, and new joinery throughout. Several bathrooms were added, plus renovation of all existing bathrooms and laundry.

PALM BEACH HOUSE 4

PALM BEACH NSW, 2014

This house was an existing split level home situated on the southern side of the beach with views North and East to the water. The clients required larger bedrooms, additional bathrooms and an improved open plan Living, Dining, Kitchen space making use of the views. The shell of the building remained with a completely re-worked interior. Large timber sliding doors were used to connect the open plans space to an enlarged balcony deck. A master suite was designed with walk in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom with sweeping ocean views from the bathtub. Substantial alterations were made to the landscaping and access to the site.
