Sydney Indoor Skydiving Centre
Homebush NSW, 2009
A truly unique project undertaken for a private client and in association with Sam Crawford Architects. The facility incorporated complex & significant technology to create an indoor skydiving simulator. Located in a high profile location in Sydney Olympic Park, the design addressed the brief and SOPA’s requirement for an iconic building form by drawing influences from the aviation industry incorporating architectural form and structure reminiscent of an aircraft wing and internal layout, spaces and feel similar to an aircraft hangar. The project was unfortunately not completed due to various political issues. The client is currently seeking an alternative site for the facility in the Sydney area.
