Penrith Government Office Building

The building occupies a key gateway site in the centre of Penrith. It has been designed to a 4.5 star ABGR rating. Australian Building Greenhouse Rating (ABGR) and provides a design solution which met true strict spatial brief of the Department of Commerce, while exceeding Penrith Council’s expectations in terms of the quality of the building design. Its environmental sustainability and provision of new high quality public domain.

Kann Finch Group were selected as the architects and master planner for the preparation of the development application, a 2.8 hectare site, following a design competition involving five of Sydney’s leading architectural practices. The mixed use project consists of seven buildings including 630 apartments and 9700m2 of commercial and retail space. The urban master plan for the site provides a highly permeable and publicly accessible outcome for the site including a public plaza, park and roads forming a new connection between Hurstville Town Centre and Allawah Railway Station. The development of an urban master plan and development application of this size involved the co-ordination and input of a wide range of stakeholders including Hurstville Council, the NSW Government Architect and the local Community.
