Peter Gionfriddo Architect
We are a small architectural practice offering a hands on approach to the design and delivery of inspiring residential and commercial projects. Our focus is the eastern suburbs of Melbourne where director Peter Gionfriddo established the practice in 2012 bringing with him over 20 years of experience in architecture and property development. Dedicated to the creation of a contemporary sustainable design aesthetic, we have a particular interest in evolving green building technologies and in the interaction of plants and buildings utilising green walls and green roofs.

Laurimar Community Centre
Doreen, 2004
The Laurimar Community Centre is a multi purpose building built for the Laurimar Housing development and in association with the City of Whittlesea. Its form was generated in careful collaboration with environmental engineers to maximise passive solar orientation and natural ventilation. The facilities which include community meeting and activity rooms, a cafe/general store and in its original configuration the projects land sales office are arranged around a central corridor which mimics the form of nearby wetlands. The building’s striking appearance is enhanced by its beautiful bluestone external walls constructed from material excavated on site. These are complemented by the placement of recycled timber columns at the front entry which were re-fashioned from wharf timbers taken from the Port of Melbourne.
