The Glenleighden School

In 1985, the school was a smalll building school, caterng to children with Aphasia. Giarola ASchitects has been involved since that time, generally involved with the design, documentation & site inspections of the following buildings: * Classrpooms. * Multi Purpose Learning Areas. * Accommodation. * Administration * Ablutions, covered walkways & the like. The school has grown to 80+ in number & still expanding. Giarola Architects is still involved.
USQ Bookshop
University of Southern Queensland, Springfield, 2011
At the USQ, an unused Canteen was being used as a Store. This area backed onto a large Auditorium. The task was to turn this space into a student Bookshop, fully air conditioned, supervised, with good lighting. There were a numer of existing parameters, design issues and services with which we had to work so that this building became a modern new building in character with the existing surrounds. Prices are being called for construction in 2012.
Wivenhoe Pocket Rural Fire Brigade

This will be a long term project. As a result f the 2010 floods, the WPRFB is seeking an extension to the existing ‘shed’ so that it can better accommodate for the future floods. To do this, a building has been designed to incoroporate: * Better communications Room with newer facilities. * Helicopter landing area associated with a First Aid Room. * Larger vehicle storage. * A large room that can be used as a teaching / functions area & ultimately a local disaster shelteer area. The drawings are intended to be used to show people what ius required, to assist in raising funds, & ultimately for cponstruction.
