Projects:
Smith House
Geelong, 2014
The house is positioned on a moderately sloping site on the Barwon escarpment in Belmont, Geelong and takes advantage of the elevation of the site with considerable views across the valley. Appearing as a low level house from the street the house immedietely opens out once entering providing clean site lines through the thin circulation zone. The house is then designed as two solid cubes with the connecting glass membrane and double height space.
Dutton House
Clifton Springs, 2014
Designed in conjunction with builders Derbyshire Homes, our clients’ site is on an elevated block in a new estate to the west of Clifton Springs and is able to capture the ocean and city from two view corridors. Our instruction to maximise the views to these corridors led the planning and floor levels as the site and neighboring context was studied in detail. The house is enclosed in a continuous wrapped form that presents as a step, wall, balcony and fascia.
Martin-Woods House
St Leonards, 2014
Located on a tight and angular site adjacent a narrow estuary in St. Leonards the house is centralised around a large east facing deck which serves for our clients preference for outdoor living. The private north facing courtyard offers a sunny and sheltered alternative retreat.
