Projects:
Carboon Residence
Geelong West, 2009
The brief called for a substantial renovation to a West Geelong late Victorian weatherboard home with heritage overlays. Design focussed on providing a functional and sustainable modern extention – North facing open plan Living , Dining, Kitchen, Walk in Pantry, Laundry, Bathroom and two additional Bedrooms whilst also showing respect to the original house.
Schurmann Residence
Maude, 2007
The design of this new home for an undulating country site on 2.5 acres reflects the rolling hills of its surroundings in its curved roof profile and in the use of natural materials. The many internal and external niches created by the home offers both northern access to every livable room in the house as well as capturing the vast country views. Respect to nature and the environment is found in the location of four decks in each orientation and in the carefull placement of doubleglazed windows and overhangs. Internal masonry walls surround the slow combustion heater to provide thermal mass storage. A contempory country home with flexible indoor / outdoor relationships
