St Peters Lutheran College Springfield

Springfield, 2012

The proposed St Peter’s Lutheran College Springfield Campus is located on an elevated, North facing site in the Health City Precinct at Springfield. Our primary design principle was recognising the importance of the site. Our proposed master plan is a green and innovative solution to the many challenges associated with a large educational institution. The design establishes a strong urban edge; thus creating buildings which define, reinforce and activate streetscapes. Developing a green, breathing central street in response to our Queensland aesthetic provides the opportunity for school community gatherings and interaction, while also offering spaces for individual repose. The street veranda protects the community from sun and rain whilst permitting breezes and draws the landscape within the structure. Potential vistas and view lines influenced the positioning of buildings; buildings have been sited on the steeper Southern side of the site to maximise Northern setbacks and enable building and landscaped terraces. The design acknowledges the importance of site, density, zoning, terracing and staging through the creation of a variety of building forms, mass and scale in order to reflect the appropriate scale of the sub-schools. The master plan creates a liveable school community with a sense of place which is functional and has a relationship with the Indooroopilly school while

3D Concept Design

Gold Coast, 2012

Our new building designs are all documented with 3D architectural drawing software. This allow us to create 3D walk throughs and great visual presentations for our clients. When combined with compatable consultant’s documentation, the enhanced co-ordination offered with 3D software of consultant’s drawings can lead to less variations during construction caused by drawing conflicts and greater cost accuracies with quantity surveying software. Below is a recent example of our work. The walk through is of a refurbishment project which was documented in 3D. The walk through was easily generated from the model. Rendered images and simple yet effective 3D wireframe drawings were also generated from the drafting model to accompany the 2 dimensional drawings in our concept presentation to the Client.

Calounda Christian College Masterplan

Caloundra, 2011

Many of our projects are staged over prolonged periods. Master planning has therefore become an important service we provide. The master plan provides an analysis of the existing buildings, access, infrastructure and landscape. It enables flexibility in our Client’s delivery of projects over the longer term. It assists in budget, curriculum, infrastructure and resources forecasting, providing a structure for the future. Recent construction at Caloundra Christian College has created a catalyst for transformation capturing this change. The master plan shall enable development to continue in a unified way. The master plan for Caloundra Christian College provides a direction for the College’s future for the next 5-10 years. The Client’s brief for the master plan was: – Create more open space – Increase height and density of the buildings. – Increase student numbers without sacrificing open space – Create new administration facilities providing a better interface. – Create clear paths of circulation. The College fosters the atmosphere and qualities of a caring family and the master plan design assists the College in creating this. The site and school population is intimate and the potential to preserve and develop this for the advantage of school community has been the intention of the master plan.
