Ideas Competition Entry

Gold Coast Cultural and Civic Precinct, 2009

Our practice participated in the Gold Coast Cultural and Civic Precinct Master Plan ideas competition by submitting an entry that accommodated the needs of the various age groups and focused on the evolving cultural needs of the community. Our entry presented ideas that attempted to: give structure to the spatial organisation of the precinct; encourage iconic and enduring buildings and public spaces that are evocative of a vibrant Australian city; establish linkages both internal and external to the precinct in terms of road, river and bridge access that cater for private and public transport including river ferries and a sky bus and with an emphasis on pedestrian and cycle ways.
